On November 8, 2022, at the University of Antananarivo, an international symposium on the theme : "Social protection, risk management, and sustainable development : Malagasy analyses and comparative perspectives" began at the Confucius Hall for two days.

Prof. Elia Béatrice ASSOUMACOU, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research honoured by her presence at the official opening of the symposium. She reiterated in her speech that Mesupres wishes to work together on productive and sustainable partnerships, especially for scientific research and training through research.

For his part, the Director of CERED, Professor Mahefasoa Randrianalijaona, said that social protection is a theme that facilitates the understanding of issues in Madagascar. In addition, this conference aims not only to contribute to the reflection on the implementation and expansion of social protection systems adapted to developing countries but also to develop a fruitful dialogue between research and field actions for development.

This conference is organized by CERED University of Antananarivo, UMI Source (UVSQ and IRD) and BSE (CNRS and University of Bordeaux) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Population, Social Protection and Promotion of Women of Madagascar, with funding from the New Aquitaine Region, the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) and the University of Bordeaux
